Ballston Spa Witch Walk

70977425_10162362556210261_456447327259852800_o.jpg

READ ALL INFORMATION!! TO COMPLETE REGISTRATION AND RECEIVE WRISTBAND YOU MUST SEND AN EMAIL TO ballstonspawitchwalk@gmail.com after placing your online order. Put WRISTBAND in subject area and include Name, order number, email, mailing address and number or wristbands ordered.
Established in 2005 by Carol Lang to help raise donations to support local animal organizations in the area. The Ballston Spa Witch Walk has grown to over 300+ witches. The annual pub crawl raises donations for various animal organizations and brings 100’s of people to the the local establishments of Ballston Spa.
The walk currently begins with The Witch Dance in Wiswall Park around 5:00 PM. Donations will be accepted then from spectators or those not wishing to join the Walk or Dance but want to donate to the animals. Following the Witch Dance the witches head up to The American Legion to register at 6:00, get their wristbands if you registered late, and grab a snack and drinks before beginning the pub crawl around Ballston Spa. Lots of fantastic costumes and the only “requirements are a witch hat and a donation and wristband.
Men/Warlocks are welcome to attend with a wristband/ donation. We gather and perform the dance throughout The Walk. The costume contest and raffles takes place before the Walk at the Legion where titles like most original, etc... are awarded prizes. Local establishments have donated “prizes” to be given for winning raffle and contests. Establishments that welcome witches are The American Legion, Henry’s Tavern, Brickyard Tavern, Whitehouse, Coffee Planet, Augie’s Family Style Restaurant, The Elks, The Factory, Nomad Coffee and Crepes, and any others open you are willing to ask if they will welcome you. It is a busy evening and as you can imagine the Witches are an overwhelming presence so asking other establishments is best.
Local businesses donate as well such as all of the above restaurants and pubs plus Ken's Sunoco, Burlingame Orthodontics, Pompa Bros, Inc, Armer Funeral Home, Boho Chic Boutique, and more to come. KISS 102.3 has donated their time and advertising as well as various newspapers have covered the event. The Witches also dance in the Ballston Spa Holiday Parade to help promote the cause and in hopes of bringing more awareness to the event and its mission.
TO PARTICIPATE OR DONATE you simply need the send in your registration/ donation, BY MAIL to Carol Lang 457 Garret Road, Ballston Spa NY 12020, OR BY CREDIT CARD on the Eventbrite link BY OCTOBER 11th.
~BE SURE TO EMAIL ballstonspawitchwalk@gmail.com and INCLUDE YOUR MAILING ADDRESS, name. Email. Phone number and confirmation number TO RECEIVE YOUR WRISTBAND.
ONLINE AND CREDIT CARD SALES ENDS OCTOBER 11TH AT MIDNIGHT. October 11th thru October 24th wristbands will be available for purchase at Henry's Tavern on Front Street, The Brickyard Tavern 72 Milton Ave, and The American Legion 23 Pleasent Street for $30 CASH ONLY. $35 CASH ONLY the night of the walk @ the door of The American Legion 6:00 PM sharp for purchases. Tickets are also available during Witch Dance Practice on Sunday’s 5:00 PM for $25.00 at 6002 County Farm Road, Ballston Spa.
FOR SPONSOR/DONOR INFORMATION please email ballstonspawitchwalk@gmail.com and we will send you the information needed.
PLEASE NOTE~ Every year we get messages and comments asking if participating in The Dance and Walk, are wristbands are required? So the answer is yes, the $25 DONATION ($35 @ Door) is accepted, appreciated, and required to participate (and to claim you participate) in the events. We do the Walk for the "cause" if you want to just dress up and head to bars do so on Halloween. This "dance and pub crawl" benefits Rescue and local animal organizations and charities. There is overhead but Carol Lang "donates" time, money, and supplies and has done so for 14 years without ever considering "what she gets out of it." I, Phaedra Zoe Stasyshyn offer the Witch Dance/ practices as another avenue to bring in donations for those that want to participate but may not want to do the "crawl."To address "what do I get for the $25?" you get the satisfaction that you have made a donation to benefit those furry critters that have no voice. The "donation/ wristband" fee goes to charities aside from a small amount to the venue, snacks, and advertising. Since 2005 those that participate can do so knowing it is for a great cause. You would not run in an Alzheimer's or Breast Cancer marathon or walk w/o donating. This is the same type of event but for animals. Thanks for your understanding and support. Know that even if you "purchase a wristband and can not attend, that your "donation" is going directly to the animals.
We want to give special recognition and thanks to Wolfshager Hexenbrut Witches for their Wolfshager Hexenbrut Dance “Schüttel deinen Speck” by Peter Fox.

Schuylerville Fall Festival

70375088_2299884906989221_6029852862010359808_n.jpg

The Schuylerville Small Business Association and the Schuylerville Chamber of Commerce are proud to present our 4th Annual Schuylerville Fall Festival!

This year's free, family-friendly festival will take place on Sunday, October 20th, from 11 am until 5 pm on Broad and Ferry Streets in the Village of Schuylerville.

In previous years we were proud to feature over 30 participating small businesses and non-profits, 20 independent artisans, as well as a wide variety of unique, local food vendors and services. Attendance continues to grow, with over 400 visitors last year.

This year's festival will be bigger and better than ever, featuring the best Schuylerville has to offer! There will be a Scavenger Hunt for visitors to follow to meet our small business owners and discover our unique local shops and businesses. Along the way enjoy live music, artisans of all kinds displaying and selling their work, and delicious local food vendors. Restaurants and store fronts will be open, and artists will be demonstrating their skills.

Scavenger Hunt Maps will be available at all participating businesses. The Hunt ends at the Schuylerville Public Library, where a flurry of Fall-inspired activities will also be in full swing. After completing the Scavenger Hunt, participants will turn in their cards and be entered into a small business raffle for the chance to win goodies and gift certificates from our wonderful local businesses.
