Save the date for the Project Cameron's Story Bookraising Party at Northshire Bookstore on Monday, February 19th from 11:00am to 3:00pm. Enjoy craft projects, face painting, and a visit with Elmo, presented by Project Cameron's Story.

The goal of Project Cameron's Story is to support the bonding of parents with their premature babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), through the use of children's literature and storytelling. We strive to empower parents to form unique and profound connections with their babies within an environment that is often uncertain and intimidating. Our mission is to place a brand new, quality, children's book in the hands of every parent of a premature baby upon admission to the NICU's at Albany Medical Center, St. Peter's Hospital Bellevue Women’s Center, Stony Brook University Hospital, Golisano Children’s Hospital, UHS Wilson Hospital, Crouse Hospital, NY Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Hospital, Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo, Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, NY Presbyterian Weil Cornell Hospital, and the special care unit at Glens Falls Hospital. Project Cameron's Story is committed to providing information regarding the benefits of this type of bonding and continues to seek ways to encourage parents to utilize this as one important way to interact with their new little one.

From February 16-20 you can buy books at Northshire Bookstore to donate to Project Cameron's Story, and they will donate a percentage of your purchase to the organization.

Tuesday for Tots at the Children's Museum at Saratoga

Tuesday for Tots is a special time for visitors to the Children's Museum at Saratoga to gain preschool and kindergarten readiness skills in a fun and social environment. Drop in between 10:00 and noon for a changing variety of hands-on art and skill building activities with friends.

Tuesdays: 10:00am-Noon, This program is a drop-in and is free with museum admission. It is most appropriate for children ages 2-5.

February’s Themes are: Winter Olympics (Feb. 6th), Happy Valentine’s Day (Feb. 13th), Mr. President (Feb. 20th), It’s Magnetic (Feb. 27th).

• 11am - Mineral springs tour to learn about the history, geology and lore surrounding our special waters.
• 2pm Saturdays - Winter Wildlife Snowshoe Exploration to search for tracks and other signs of wildlife in the park!

February Break Camps at Ndakinna Education Center

Ndakinna is coming up on their annual February break camps (February 19th-23rd) and they're happy to announce that their camps for ages 9 and up are now a full week long instead of four days!

Also due to popular demand they're expanding camp to 9-4 instead of 10-4.

Winter Wilderness Adventure & Storytelling Camp (Ages 6-8)
Feb 19th-21st (Three days) | 9:00 am to 4:00 pm | Three full days of indoor and outdoor activities that include shelter making and animal tracking as well as Native American games, crafts, and storytelling. Dress for the outdoors (bring snowshoes if you have them) and bring a bag lunch.

Winter Wilderness Adventure Camp (Ages 9-12)
Feb 19th-23rd (Five Days)| 9:00 am to 4:00 pm | Five days of indoor and outdoor winter activities, that include snowshoeing, animal tracking, and shelter building, as well as Native American games, basic winter survival and more. Art Lab at The Hyde Collection

Art Lab is this Sunday at The Hyde Collection, 161 Warren Street, Glens Falls. A free gallery and art-making activity that explores the “A” in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math). For families with children ages 6 and older, but anyone can participate; even adults without children will have a blast. 1 – 4 pm, free, no registration required.

Animal Tracking and Snowshoe Hike (A Saratoga READS Program) 2/19

Join Environmental Educators from Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park on Presidents Day (Mon, Feb 19th) starting at 11am for a family snowshoe hike in Congress Park. For children ages 5-12 accompanied by an adult. Meet in the Crawshaw Story Room to receive footprint identification cards and loaner snowshoes, courtesy of Wilton Wildlife. Please bring your own snowshoes if you have them. If there is no snow we will hunt for mud tracks and then head indoors for related activities. Random Acts of Kindness Week :: Saratoga Springs Public Library

During February 11 - 17th stop into the Saratoga Springs Public Library and participate in one of these great Random Acts of Kindness (RAK) activities for children and adults. Don't have time for an activity? Help yourself to a goodie or random kind thought from their kindness jar during your visit.

The week's drop-in activities may include:

-create kindness cards to leave on coffee tables, desk tops, lunchboxes, brief cases, etc.

-roll the dice and find a RAK activity you can do for your family, friends or community

-read about different organizations and projects (locally and nationally) that you can contribute your skills and/or well wishes to.

Family Saturday: Artsy Valentines at the Tang Teaching Museum

Join the Tang Teaching Museum for Family Saturday: Artsy Valentines on February 10th. All kinds of materials will be provided for you to make special and unique valentines for your friends and family.

Family Saturdays foster multigenerational creative cooperation through looking at artwork, discussing it, and engaging in a hands-on art activity. Most programs run from 2:00 – 3:30 pm and include a tour of a specific exhibition.

Town of Clifton Park 2018 Annual Winterfest

The Town of Clifton Park is pleased to announce its annual Winterfest on Saturday, Feb 10th from 11am to 4pm. Join your friends and neighbors during this day of fun and excitement in and out of the cold. There will be local competitions, winter activities, family fun, and more!

12pm to 3pm - Horse-Drawn Sleigh Rides

Healthy Saratoga Wellness Event at the Saratoga Farmers' Market 2/10

The Saratoga Farmers' Market is thrilled to host its 4th annual #HealthySaratoga Event in collaboration with the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce and The Alpine Sport Shop. From 10 am to 12 pm on Saturday, February 10th, The Alpine Sport Shop will put on an interactive snowshoe demonstration in front of the Lincoln Baths, and will include a free coffee, tea, or hot chocolate for any of the participants in the demonstration.

From 9 am to 1 pm, there will be FREE activities for children hosted by Northeast Parent & Child Society and Friends of the Saratoga Market, healthy recipes and food samplings byCornell Cooperative Extension: Food & Nutrition, live music by L.B. Walker, and information and demos by local wellness organizations.
