Save the date for The Children’s Museum at Saratoga’s annual, family-fun event, Big Truck Day! On Saturday, August 3rd from 9am to 1pm join the Museum at The Maple Avenue Middle School (located at 515 Maple Avenue in Saratoga Springs) parking lot where trucks of all shapes and sizes will be on display for children to explore! From classic favorites to unique finds it will be hard to pick a favorite!
Where’s Waldo? In Downtown Saratoga Springs of course! The famous children’s book character in the striped shirt and black-rimmed specs will be hiding in local businesses and community organizations throughout our downtown this July. Join in Northshire Bookstore’s fun scavenger hunt and win great prizes! Starting Monday, July 1st at 10:00am and ending Wednesday, July 31st at 9:00pm.
Stop by Northshire Bookstore on Broadway in Saratoga Springs to pick up your passport and begin the search. The first 125 participants to find at least ten of the Waldos hiding around town will win a button and a coupon for $1 off any Where's Waldo Book. Find at least 15 Waldos to be entered in the grand prize drawing, which includes many great Waldo prizes.
Where’s Waldo is the creation of Martin Handford, whose entertaining drawings of crowd scenes swept the world in the late eighties. In celebration of Waldo’s longevity and popularity, his American publisher, Candlewick Press, is once again teaming up with the American Booksellers Association and 250 independent bookstores all across the country for some scavenger hunt fun as well as to encourage communities to patronize their local businesses.

Beaver Adventures is at Moreau Lake State Park on Friday, July 19th from 11 AM – 12 PM. This short walk is family friendly and will bring participants close to a beaver lodge and on the edge of some great beaver habitat. A Park Educator will teach you all the things you never knew you wanted to know about these awesome creatures. Reservations are required with 24 hours advanced notice, please call 518-793-0511. Stop at the park office to pay for the event. Children and seniors are $1, everyone else is $2.

Sustainable Saratoga, The Children's Museum at Saratoga and the Saratoga Springs Public Library are excited to invite you to participate in the WHIZ, BANG, POP: Adventures in Science Fair on July 17, 2019! The fair will take place from 10 am until 1 pm at both the Children's Museum at Saratoga and in the Community Room of the Saratoga Springs Public Library.
This is an interactive fair for children and their families, with a focus on science, nature and the senses. Children will actively engage in activities designed to expose them to basic science concepts; to motivate them to explore the natural world; and to enliven their senses.
This event is FREE and open to everyone.

The Backstretch Babies Drop-In Program at the National Racing Museum and Hall of Fame is offered for young children two years old and younger. These weekly programs during the Saratoga racing season will feature a short story or activity followed by free play with our sensory-friendly toys. Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. from July 10 through Aug. 28. Cost: Free with a paid adult admission. The museum is located at 191 Union Ave, Saratoga Springs.
On the afternoon of July 19th, all the world’s a stage!
At 12:30pm on SPAC grounds Radial Arts presents Under the Sea, a festive afternoon of aquatic-themed dance, music, and theatre, including premiere performances of The Coral Sea, a short play written by Alexandra Marello (Skidmore College), and The Little Prince and the Planet of Music, a new composition created through Saratoga Chamber Players’ “Classroom to Concert” program with students from the Lake Ave Elementary School. Plus, enjoy enchanting activities for the whole family, including face painting, bubble making, and make-your-own pirate hats & mermaid crowns!
At 2pm, the event culminates with a staged performance of a one-hour adaptation of William Shakespeare’s The Tempest, directed by Marcus Dean Fuller for Saratoga Shakespeare Company. The immersive performance will take place in the Spa State Park Reflecting Pool – next to the Hall of Springs and just steps outside the SPAC gates.

Join the Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery at Skidmore College on Saturday, July 13 at 2:00pm for Family Saturday: Superhuman Shields! After exploring Streb Action and the message of overcoming one’s fears and finding our own strengths, we will create our own superhuman shields that celebrate the different kinds of strengths that we have all have the power to activate in ourselves!
Family Saturdays foster multigenerational creative collaboration through looking at artwork in our galleries, discussing and sharing ideas, and engaging in a hands-on art activity inspired by those conversations.
All programs run from 2:00 to 3:30 PM and are free and open to the public, and suitable for children ages 5 and older, accompanied by their adult companions.

Lavenlair Farm is excited to offer yoga in the field for 2019. Try out a session on Saturday, July 13th from 10:30-11:30am. Sessions will go rain or shine. Georgianna (Gigi) Bull has been in a tango with yoga ever since a college dance teacher introduced her to it. After a serious sports injury, she turned to a dedicated yoga practice to rehabilitate. She received her 200 hour training at Yoga Kayla in Glens Falls and has taught adults and children in studios, gyms and schools. She combines gentle movement/meditative flows with her sense of humor to leave her classes invigorated yet relaxed.
