Over fifty years ago, The Beagle School was chartered by a group of dedicated and energetic parents who had a special vision of early childhood education. The philosophy of our school is derived from the exploration, discovery, and the sense of wonder that belonged to Charles Darwin and his ship, the HMS Beagle.
For over half a century, The Beagle School has provided an exceptional experience for young children in the Saratoga Springs, NY region. The mission of The Beagle School is to provide a quality early education experience that fosters the sense of wonder and discovery that naturally exists in all children.
Through a variety of enriching experiences, children will be supported in all areas of development, with a particular emphasis on such traits as self-motivation, responsibility, and creativity, as well as kindergarten readiness. This will be accomplished through The Beagle School working together with families to assure a safe and nurturing environment for each child.
All of our programs emphasize outdoor play, exploration, and fun. Our two year old location, known as “Little Beagle,” has a backyard space filled with age appropriate toys to climb on, ride on, and invite creative play! Our Regent St. classes have the famed pirate ship as the centerpiece in our beautiful backyard, which was expanded in 2021. There are also slides, swings, and tricycles to encourage growth of gross motor skills. When not on the playground equipment, you will see students playing “What time is it Mr. Fox,” tag, drawing with chalk, chasing bubbles, or playing house. Regent St. also includes an outdoor discovery center which is a covered deck that allows for more outdoor exploration despite the weather.
Our school offers programs for children aged 2-5.
Little Explorers (2 year old class)

This program offers a warm, loving environment that gives students their first introduction to school routines, peer socialization, and being away from home. It is a play-based curriculum that includes free-play, circle time, story time, music and movement, teacher-led art activities, and outdoor play. Children are given an introduction to concepts such as letters, counting, shapes, colors and patterning.
Voyagers AM/PM (3-year-old classes)

Child must be 3 by 12/1

This program introduces students to pre-kindergarten skills within the framework of a fun, theme-based program. Each class follows a daily schedule, which includes free play, circle time, calendar activities, music and movement, learning centers, story time, and outdoor play. In addition, children work on name recognition and writing, fine and gross motor skills, and pre-math skills throughout their day.
Discoverers & Beyond Beagle (Pre-K/4-year-old classes)

Our Pre-K program builds on our three-year old curriculum, expanding ideas and concepts, encouraging more independence, and giving students the tools for success in pre-kindergarten skills; such as, name writing, language, pre-math skills, critical and scientific thinking, social skills, and fine and gross motor skills.
Each class follows a daily schedule, which includes free play, circle time, calendar activities, music and movement, learning centers, story time, and outdoor play.
At The Beagle School, we are more than just a preschool- we are a community. We have events that allow our families to get to know one another, building relationships that last a lifetime. As a school that has been part of the Saratoga community for a long time, we have former students who now enroll their own children to have the same excellent foundation they had all those years ago. We are the little red school house with a big heart that is felt by all who walk through our doors.

· Please make sure to select a first and second choice for your program, as well as answer all required questions.
· We are currently not accepting payments through the website. You must send a check or call with a credit card payment for $150 ($50 Registration Fee plus $100 Deposit or $125 for Active Military Duty) to complete your registration.
