The 12th Annual Kite Fest is Father's Day at Marcy Field in Keene from 10am-3pm. Bring your own kite to fly or buy a new one and the proceeds will benefit the Little Peaks Preschool in Keene.

The Wilmington Historical Society is hosting the Wilmington Whiteface Heritage Festival on Saturday, June 15th from 11 am-4pm at Festival Field located at 2 Cunningham Lane (just off Springfield Road) in Wilmington. One of three events happening throughout the day, it is free and the public is encouraged to attend. The Heritage Festival will follow the 3rd annual Whiskey Run event which begins at 9:30am. The final event of the day is a Speakeasy Soiree at Pourman’s Tap House which will take place from 8pm-11pm, also free and open to the public. All 3 events are a benefit for the Wilmington Historical Society which is raising funds for a new history center building.
The race is on and we cannot wait to see all the IRONKIDS in Lake Placid this year. There is a Fun Run (ages 6 months- 14 years), and Dip-N-Dash (ages 7 years-15 years). Brand new for this year IRONKIDS has added two new distances this year for the Fun Run! A Diaper Dot Dash and Toddler Dot Trot!!

For 30 years, the VIC has been dedicated to helping children foster excitement and wonder about the great outdoors. Join in for the annual Kids Biofest, the grand finale to our Junior Naturalist week. The VICs staff dedicates this day of learning and exploring to children--the future of our planet. Family and child-friendly birding, hiking, games, crafts, hands-on-wildlife experiences, and more wait for you and your budding naturalist!
Head down to the Auditorium of the Harrietstown Town Hall to register your child(ren) for camp this summer! Bring your filled out paperwork or fill it out there--they will have extra copies available! There will be SLAYP staff members present to answer any questions you might have as well. Please come with immunization records or dates to complete the registration forms. The deadline for registration is the next day, so use this night to make sure you get your child(ren) signed up on time!
The Bookstore Plus Story Time and Crafts
On the second Sunday of every month, at 4:00 PM, Bookstore Plus hosts a themed story & craft hour. All children (especially children at heart) are welcome! A storyteller reads to the curious listeners and then guides them through a themed, fun craft activity. They provide all the materials needed, for crafts time, at no cost. Come join in the children’s section
The theme for July is Dynamic Duos!
Bookstore Plus will read The Good Egg and The Bad Seed. For the craft, you will color The Good Egg/The Bad Seed activity pages and plant seeds in egg cartons! Attendees will also receive a reversible Good Egg/Bad Seed Headband Mask! All materials will be provided free of charge.
Saturday, June 15 for the first ever Library Crawl! There are over twenty libraries throughout the Clinton-Essex-Franklin library system joining in, as well as our neighbor libraries across the lake in Vermont.
Stop in to any - or all - of the libraries this day. You can pick up your "Library Crawl Passport" at your first stop. Participating libraries will stamp your passport, and those who get at least three stamps will be eligible for a drawing. Many have special activities for kids plans so stay tuned for more details.

Join the Lake Placid Sinfonietta for a concert that has the best view in town! Seating is limited, so we suggest that you bring a blanket or lawn chair to sit on. Many people bring picnics to enjoy during the concert, although with an 8 PM finish, there are many restaurant options available within walking distance after the concert. Children of all ages are welcome, and dancing is encouraged. This is a concert for the whole family!
Youth Program: Kids' Week Outside

Get your kids outside this summer! Educators, parents, and backcountry pros Jess and Nate Jeffery will be putting together their outdoor expertise to provide a week of exploration, laughter and fun in the Adirondack outdoors. Your kids will get to enjoy time away from screens in the company of new and old friends, all while learning and practicing new skills like rock climbing, canoeing, and camping.
Kids' Week runs from 8am - 5pm each day. The week of fun will culminate with an overnight on Thursday, where Jess and Nate will teach your child how to set up a cozy campsite, start a fire, and cook a tasty backcountry meal.
Daily activities include (but are not limited to):
- Rock climbing at the local crag
- Hiking up Balanced Rocks
- Barn fun day
- Beach day
- Field games
- Canoeing on the lake

Kids Fun Run and Obstacle Course
Join The Wild Center for their first annual You Otter Run/Walk 5k. Get your otter whiskers and then follow Ollie the Otter through Tupper Lake.
First, second and third place prizes will be awarded, but all participants will receive a medal. Race participants can check in starting at 8:00 in the main parking lot of The Wild Center, the race starts at 9:00 am.
Funds raised through this run will go towards supporting the North American River Otters that call The Wild Center home. Online registration closes on Friday, June 21st at 6:00 pm ($20 ages 5-14, $30 ages 15+). Day of registration is $40 per registrant (may not include a t-shirt).

The Strand and Adirondack Regional Theatre bring you a performance of Roald Dahl’s timeless story of the world-famous candy man and his quest to find an heir! This story comes to life in this stage adaptation of Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, which features the songs from the classic family film Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory.
This project is made possible with the funds from the Decentralization Program, a re-grant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature and administered by the Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts.
