The Essex County Fair is a small agricultural fair. They have animal shows of many varieties for everyone to enjoy.
The one price admission includes carnival rides, animal shows, face painting, exhibits and parking.
Only $10 each for all day fun.
They are one of few fairs that still has Standardbred harness racing. With lots of motor sports - some for all ages. A figure 8 race is a new contest this year.

Join a park naturalist to discover some of the turtle species that live in the park and the adaptations that help them survive here. Learn about a turtle research project taking place in the pond, and (with any luck) get to meet a live turtle! All ages and abilities welcome!

All Point Au Roche State Park programs meet at the Nature Center unless otherwise indicated.
*There is always an alternative, indoor back-up plan for outdoor programs that is available in case of bad weather. Come anyway, there will always be something to do and to learn!

Our Annual Rubber Loon Race will be on July 20th at 3:00 PM. Come and join the fun with The Adirondack Interpretive Center to release the rubber loons and race down the outlet of Rich Lake. There are great prizes available to the top loon athletes. You can sponsor a loon for $10 and all proceeds support educational programming at the AIC.
This family-friendly event is a fully supported day ride showcasing the stunning Ausable River watershed in the heart of the Adirondacks.
Ride for the River was created by Ausable River Association in 2012 to celebrate the resilience of local communities following the devastating flooding caused by Tropical Storm Irene. In partnership with Cycle Adirondacks, the ride features interactive route stops allowing cyclists to learn about the impacts of road salt, invasive species and undersized culverts on Ausable streams and habitat.
Proceeds support Ausable River Association's efforts to protect the clean waters, natural hydrology, diverse ecology, and scenic beauty of the Ausable.

The Strand and Adirondack Regional Theatre bring you a performance of Roald Dahl’s timeless story of the world-famous candy man and his quest to find an heir! This story comes to life in this stage adaptation of Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, which features the songs from the classic family film Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory.
This project is made possible with the funds from the Decentralization Program, a re-grant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature and administered by the Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts.
