WEDNESDAY
There is a New Parents and Babies Meetup today at 10:30 at Northshire Bookstore on Broadway in Saratoga Springs. This is an informal meetup group, free and open to the public, no registration required.
The Power of Produce (POP) Club is today at the Saratoga Farmers' Market. What's POP Club? POP Club is a fun, free, educational program for children, targeting ages 5 to 12. POP Club teaches children about fruits and vegetables, local food systems, and healthy food preparation through a variety of fun activities.
How the POP Club Works:
POP Club is offered at the Wednesday market with activities ranging from cooking demonstrations to scavenger hunts, emphasizing nutrition, agriculture, and exercise education. POP kids are encouraged to try new foods and make healthy food choices. Children who participate are given a POP Passport, collecting a stamp at each visit and earning a prize for every four stamps collected. Also, each child will be given a $2 POP token for the purchase offresh fruit or vegetables at the market. The Saratoga Farmers' Market Wednesday market is from 3-6pm, the outdoor market is located at the High Rock Park Pavilions, High Rock Park Saratoga Springs.

The Dragons Love Tacos Party is today! Head to Northshire Bookstore at 10:30 and meet a taco-loving dragon, as Northshire Bookstore celebrates the release of the instant hit Dragons Love Tacos 2! Enjoy a special story time with their booksellers, a taco craft, and a chance to high-five a friendly red dragon! Free admission, no registration required.
SUNDAY
The family friendly 2017 SPAC Rock & Run is today at SPAC at Saratoga Spa State Park, 19 Roosevelt Drive, Saratoga Springs.
This family-friendly outdoor race is a rockin' 5K, 10K, kids 1K fun run and a Half Marathon! Runners' energy will stay high with live music along the route by some of the region's best bands and a large, post-race family party. Start at SPAC, and run the course through the Spa State Park and around the golf course, finishing back on the lawn at SPAC where you started.

Kids 12 & under are invited to submit original bookmark designs for our annual May Bookmark Contest or pick one up in the children's department to enter any time throughout the month of May! Click below for a printable entry form.
This year, they are asking kids to create designs based on a character or characters they've met throughout their many adventures in reading. Up to five designs will be chosen to be made into limited edition, official Northshire Bookstore Bookmarks. All entries must be received by Wednesday, May 31st. To submit, drop off your entry at any service desk in their Saratoga Springs store or mail your entry to: Bookmark Design Contest c/o Northshire Bookstore, 424 Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866. Winning bookmarks will be available in the store by June 12th.
