Get Ready for the Track at the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame this Saturday, July 7h from 10am to 12pm. This FREE event is a family-friendly celebration of horse racing, the upcoming Saratoga meet and Foal Patrol. There will be a variety of fun and educational activities featuring Vicki Dodd author of “A Moose in My Stable” book and coloring book and the book “A Moose in The Starting Gate,” as well as crafts and the educational concepts on the Foal Patrol website.
Special activities include:
•Meet Vicki Dodd (author of “A Moose in My Stable” book and coloring book and “A Moose in The Starting Gate” book - and meet Longshot, the Moose mascot!
•Coloring sheets and coloring station
•Make your own Noodle Horse – and try on real jockey silks, too!
•Go on a Museum-wide Scavenger hunt – explore the museum galleries to find special objects then receive a souvenir sticker
•HorsePlay! Gallery: Ride an equipony, a mechanical horse that imitates riding, groom a life-sized stuffed horse, explore the many different shoes a Thoroughbred may wear, and investigate objects related to the many careers associated with horse racing
•Guided exploration of the Foal Patrol website, the Museum’s interactive project featuring a collection of live cameras following mares during their pregnancy through foaling. View the website with iPads on our large-screen TVs and learn all about the fun and educational aspects of Foal Patrol and our partner, Godolphin Kids.
