Animal Tracking Hike

Participants will meet at the Saratoga Springs Public Library to learn about animal footprints and get snowshoes. We will walk to Congress Park and look for animal tracks. Registration is limited to 20 families, so register early! Registration is required by calling the Library at (518) 584-7860 option 3.
Nature Picture Frame Craft

Join us at the Preserve & Park office at 80 Scout Road for a great nature craft! We will use twigs, pine cones, and other natural materials to create our picture frames. This program is designed for children ages 5 and up.
Winter Nature Detectives Walk

Join us at Camp Saratoga North for an interactive walk on snowshoes! Learn the basics of animal tracking, and why we only see certain animals in the winter. How do they survive? Children will become an animal and use their senses to find food. This program is best for children ages 5 and up.
Winter Nature Scavenger Hunt

Children will learn to use their senses to explore the outdoors during winter by working to complete a nature scavenger hunt. The program is designed for children ages 5 and up.
Upcycling Craft

Participants will meet at the Preserve & Park office at 80 Scout Road to learn how to craft with trash. Before you throw something away, how can you reuse it? This program will teach children how to make an old t-shirt into a reusable grocery bag. Decorate it how you please! This program is best for children ages 5 and up. Don’t forget to bring an old shirt!
Turtle Discovery

Join us at the Saratoga Children’s Museum to learn all things turtle! Why do they have a shell? Where are their teeth? We will discuss what threats there are to turtles, and what you can do to help them. Become a turtle to discover what makes our reptilian friends so well adapted to the Saratoga Sandplains, and meet our special guests Leroy and Daisy. This program is designed for preschool and lower elementary level children. Registration is not required.
