Caffe Lena Little Folks Series

Singer-songwriter, performer, and educator of over 45 years of experience, Deb Cavanaugh uses her music to enhance our human connection, and bring awareness of traditional American culture with the mountain dulcimer, limberjack, and crankie. Her music spans all genres as she alternates between rock & roll, folk, jazz, blues, pop and classical music. Deb also teaches Music Together®, an early-education research-based program for families with young children. They say that variety is the spice of life, and Deb sets out to prove this in her many endeavors. Today Deb will be joined by Jared Carrozza and Ben Hart. Family Saturday: Painted Words!

Join the Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs on Saturday, April 1, at 2 pm, for Family Saturday: Painted Words! After viewing works in the Tang collection by legendary artist and designer Corita Kent (1918–1986), participants will be invited to create their own posters using stencils, stamps, paint, and more. See more of Sister Corita’s works in the Tang’s 2013 exhibition Someday is Now: The Art of Corita Kent.

Family Saturday programs foster multigenerational creative cooperation through looking at artwork, discussing it, and engaging in a hands-on art-making activity. Programs run from 2-3:30 pm and include a tour of selected works. All programs are free and open to the public, and suitable for children age 5 and older, accompanied by their adult companions. No registration required; supplies provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

Maple Weekend 2023

Maple Weekend is here! This weekend March 25-26 visitors can visit local farms for pancake breakfasts, sugar house tours, activities and more!

Family Saturday: Signed Sculptures at the Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery 3/4

Join the Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery on Saturday, March 4, at 2 pm, for Family Saturday: Signed Sculptures! After viewing works by Christine Sun Kim, whose art engages with different modes of visual communication, participants will use construction-paper cutouts of their own hands to create American Sign Language (ASL) inspired sculptures.

Read more about the exhibition Christine Sun Kim: Oh Me Oh My, in which the artist, whose first language is ASL, challenges the notion that sound is a solely auditory experience.

Kids Night Out (8-14yrs) at the Saratoga Regional YMCA 3/4 7-10pm

The Saratoga Regional YMCA is offering Kids Night the first Saturday of the month at the Saratoga Springs Branch. Kids and Teens will be able to hang out with friends while parents and guardians have a worry-free Saturday night to themselves. Each Saturday, there will be a special activity such as dodgeball, scatter ball, basketball, etc. as well as use of the pool, track, MPR and cyber café. We encourage participants to bring a friend(s) with them. Pizza, Drinks, and snacks will be available for purchase. Each item will cost $1.00. Science Saturdays at the Schuylerville Public Library 3/4

American Sign Language for Kids at the Saratoga Springs Public Library

Join the Saratoga Springs Public Library for an introduction to American Sign Language. We will have ASL conversation practice, worksheet activities, and physical games to play using the American Sign Language (ASL) signs and fingerspelling practice. This series is geared for children in grades 1st - 5th.

Join the Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery on Saturday, February 4, at 2 pm, for Family Saturday: Stained Glass Snowflakes! After viewing photographs of snowflakes from the Tang collection by Wilson Alwyn “Snowflake” Bently, the first person to make detailed photographs of individual snowflakes, participants will create snowflakes using glitter-glue and other materials.

Family Saturday programs foster multigenerational creative cooperation through looking at artwork, discussing it, and engaging in a hands-on art-making activity. All programs are free and open to the public, and suitable for children age 5 and older, accompanied by their adult companions. Chinese Lunar New Year at the Children’s Museum at Saratoga

The World Awareness Children's Museum will present an introduction to the Chinese Lunar New Year Festival at The Children's Museum at Saratoga on Saturday, January 21 from 11am to 11:30am! Children will learn through hands-on stations with authentic clothing and objects, original art, and a make-and-take project that brings this celebration to life!

Mermaid Day at Via Aquarium Saturday, January 21

Join Via Aquarium for mermaid day!

The event will start with a mermaid princess performance on their Koi pond and then the princess will make her rounds and do crafts and take photos with the children. This will be followed with a mermaid dive show!

A mermaid craft and other games will be part of the event as well.

The event starts on the koi pond at 12pm on Saturday, January 21st. And the event will end with a mermaid dive show at 1:30pm
