Winter Wonderland Open House at Camp Chingachgook

Children's Winter Vacation Dance Program for Elementary Age Children at the National Museum of Dance & Hall of Fame

This unique experience at the National Museum of dance aims to spark and foster a love, appreciation and understanding of dance and art for elementary age children. Each day there will be a theme that children will create dances and art projects around. We will visit the exhibits in the museum and play in the Alfred Z. Solomon Children's Wing with its many props, costumes, books and small dance studio. The National Museum of Dance is located at 99 South Broadway in Saratoga Springs. Cost Per Week: $175 for non-members, $150 Museum members and School of the Arts students. Enjoy craft projects, face painting, and a visit with Elmo on Monday, February 18th from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Presented by Project: Cameron's Story, join the party to celebrate their goal of giving books to every parent of a premature baby upon admission to the NICU's at Albany Medical Center, St. Peter's Hospital Bellevue Women’s Center, Stony Brook University Hospital, Golisano Children’s Hospital, UHS Wilson Hospital, Crouse Hospital, NY Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Hospital, Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo, Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, NY Presbyterian Weil Cornell Hospital, and the special care unit at Glens Falls Hospital.

From February 16th to the 20th you can buy books at our bookstore to donate to Project: Cameron's Story,  We will also donate a percentage of purchases made to the organization.

The goal of Project: Cameron's Story is to support the bonding of parents with their premature babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), through the use of children's literature and storytelling. We strive to empower parents to form unique and profound connections with their babies within an environment that is often uncertain and intimidating. Our mission is to place a brand new, quality, children's book in the hands of every parent of a premature baby upon admission to the NICU's at Albany Medical Center, St. Peter's Hospital Bellevue Women’s Center, Stony Brook University Hospital, Golisano Children’s Hospital, UHS Wilson Hospital, Crouse Hospital, NY Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Hospital, Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo, Millard a rollicking adventure story about growing up and the things we share that make us human.

Fillmore Suburban Hospital, NY Presbyterian Weil Cornell Hospital, and the special care unit at Glens Falls Hospital. Project Cameron's Story is committed to providing information regarding the benefits of this type of bonding and continues to seek ways to encourage parents to utilize this as one important way to interact with their new little one.

Animal Tracking Hike with Wilton Wildlife Preserve Park

Hosted by  Wilton Wildlife Preserve and Park on Monday, Feb 18, 2019 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM participants will meet at the Saratoga Springs Public Library to learn about animal footprints and get snowshoes. CDPHP Bounce Bonanza

CDPHP Bounce Bonanza presented by Ring Around the Spectrum is coming to the Albany Cap Center (55 Eagle St, Albany)! What better way to use our ballroom on a cold February afternoon, then to fill it with bounce houses! There will be four hour and a half bounce sessions on both February 19 and 20. Get your tickets today!

Whispering Willow Wild Care will also be bringing a few feathered friends, inlcuding Owls, Hawks, Raven and their talking Crow, to teach attendees about the birds and give them an up close look!

Ring Around The Spectrum will be providing a miniature version of their sensory room with mini bubble tubes, special lighting, tactile panels, Yogibo bags, and fine motor skill activities.

Tickets can also be purchased on the day of the event when doors open at 9:00am.

Special Story Time with Jessica Laurel Kane at Northshire Bookstore

Join us for a special story time at Northshire Bookstore on Friday, February 22nd at 10:30 a.m. with Jessica Laurel Kane, author of A Book of Hearts and Feed It to the Worms.

Feed It to the Worms: A Collection of Very Short Stories for Small Children is a collection of fifty-seven very short, illustrated stories for children ages four-plus.

A Book of Hearts was written for children and their parents to encourage understanding and empathy for all the different kinds of people who live in our world and in our very own hearts.

Jessica Laurel Kane is the author-illustrator of three books for children--The Butterfly Who Was Afraid to Fly is coming out in early March. She has an MFA from Sarah Lawrence College and has worked as a stop-motion animator, a special effects make-up artist on Broadway for such shows as Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King, and as a commissioned sculptor. She is the recipient of a 2018 LARAC Artist grant and lives in Upstate New York with her husband and little boy.

Camp Little Notch - Open House/Open Hiking

On Saturday, Feb 23, 2019 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM you are all cordially invited to visit Camp Little Notch!

We are hosting a Winter Open House and Hiking from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. $5 per person donation is requested. RSVP mandatory.

Come breathe some crisp fresh air, listen to the murmur of water and the tinkle of new ice, and welcome the new year! Make some snow angels! Take some beautiful pictures! Take a moment to enjoy the peace and beauty and to reflect upon the past year. Hike the Furnace Trail! Invite your friends for a winter picnic and hike.

Families welcome! Dogs welcome!

If there is no snow we can drive right in; if there is snow we can park by the Inman Pond trailhead and walk or snowshoe the mile into camp.

You will need to sign in and out of camp, sign a waiver, and have proof of rabies vaccination for your dogs. This hike may be cancelled due to inclement weather. If this happens, it will be announced in our FB page, and all confirmed attendees emailed. Cost is $5, Camp Little Notch is located at 744 Sly Pond Road Fort Ann, NY.
