In this high-energy show at Saratoga Springs Public Library on Wednesday, August 7th,, Steve Tomecek, (aka. “The Dirtmeister) will trace the history of flight and rockets using a variety of wild and wacky science demonstrations, many of which people can try at home using some “Dirt Cheap” materials. This program is especially designed for family audiences with children ages 4 and up. No registration required.
Join our friends from the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame as they host a fun and interactive summer education series all about horses! This program is held at The Children’s Museum at Saratoga (69 Caroline St Saratoga Springs) on Monday, August 5th from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
August 5 – Discover the life cycle of horses and the bond between mom and baby while viewing video footage of Foal Patrol, the National Racing Museum’s live streaming mare and foal program.
August 12 – Ever wonder what allows a horse to run so fast? Explore and learn about the anatomy of Thoroughbred racehorses. Build a horse skeleton with some creative art supplies.
August 19 – We enjoy the company of animals and so do Thoroughbred horses! Learn about some silly animal friendships and the importance of companion animals including cats, dogs, pigs, goats and even chickens with some fun activities.
It's a celebration of summer's sweetest berry at the Saratoga Farmers' Market! This free event will be held on Saturday, August 3, 9 am to 1 pm, rain or shine. The market will be bursting with all things blueberry! From the berries themselves to blueberry products (anything from blueberry scones to blueberry lemon fromage frais, and blueberry pupcakes to blueberry-infused honey!), tastings, and recipes - we'll have it all! There will also be awesome activities for children and families that are, you guessed it, blueberry-themed! With all of this, plus information tables, and live music, this will be the sweetest festival of the summer!
New this summer, The Hyde Collection in Glens Falls offers a Plein Air Pop-Up with Family Fridays. Meet the education team outside the Museum at 10:30 am Fridays August 2 and 9, to learn about how to create an “en plein air” artwork. Each week, a different technique will be explored in preparation for the Plein Air Festival on August 11. Activity will be canceled in the event of inclement weather. The Concerts in the Park are presented by the BSBPA, a non-profit, community organization committed to making the Village of Ballston Spa a better place to live and work, and to bringing quality arts and entertainment events for all ages to the community. Join the Tang Teaching Museum at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs on Saturday, August 3 at 2:00pm for Family Saturday: Out of This World! Come and explore works in our Tang collection of outer space and works that are inspired by the universe! We will create our own cosmic arworks out of paper, model magic, cardboard, metallic markers, felt, and more.
Family Saturdays foster multigenerational creative collaboration through looking at artwork in our galleries, discussing and sharing ideas, and engaging in a hands-on art activity inspired by those conversations.
All programs run from 2:00 to 3:30 PM and are free and open to the public, and suitable for children ages 5 and older, accompanied by their adult companions.

The Power of Produce Club for Kids (POP Club) is back for their 4th season thanks to the support of the Christopher Dailey Foundation! POP Club is a free 12-week program held on Wednesdays at the Saratoga Farmers' Market. Children may show up any time between 3-6 pm at the market on Wednesdays (High Rock Park in Saratoga Springs) to participate in a fun, educational activity. Children who participate are given a $2 POP coin to spend on fresh fruit and vegetables at the market, and they will earn a stamp in their POP Passport (4 stamps = a prize!). POP Club will begin on Wed, June 26 and will run through Wed, September 11. This season, we have an incredible lineup of activities offered by a variety of hosts. It's all about farm, food, and nutrition education for all ages and abilities! Behold the power of produce!
Join Northshire Bookstore on Broadway in Saratoga Springs for this FREE event on August 3rd, from 10:15 am -12 pm as we celebrate breastfeeding. There will be information and demonstrations from local baby friendly organizations. Join us for mommy-baby yoga, learn some great relaxation techniques and latch on at 10:30 to be included in the global count. The Big Latch On seeks to normalize and support breastfeeding in our community.

On Wednesday, Jul 24th from 10:15 AM to 11:00 AM bring the kids to yoga in the park in Congress Park in Saratoga Springs. Cost is $7. Kids Yoga in the Park introduces kids to mindfulness, breathing exercises, yoga poses and relaxation while improving self regulation, flexibility, core strength, balance and focus. 45 minutes long.
