Join The Children's Museum At Saratoga on Friday, April 13th from 11am-12pm as they prepare their community garden for the season. This program will introduce the art and science of gardening to your child, as well as, increase their awareness of botany, outdoor recreation and nutrition. This program is free with museum admission. The Children's Museum at Saratoga is located at 69 Caroline St Saratoga Springs.
Check out Library Babies at the Saratoga Springs Public Library on Saturday, April 14th from 10-11am. This is an informal playgroup for babies under the age of 24 months with a parent or caregiver. There will be no rhymes or fingerplays for Saturday's session. No registration required.
Join the Tang Teaching Museum at Skidmore College on Saturday, April 14 for Family Saturday: Sonic Artmaking.
After listening to sounds we find in and around the museum, we will make audio recordings and "weave" sonic collages and audio tapestries from the sounds we captured.
Family Saturday: Sonic Artmaking is produced in association with Professor Adam Tinkle, the students of his Participatory Documentary, Community Media, and Socially-Engaged Art course, and the Upstate Youth Radio and Podcast Project. Learn more here.
Family Saturdays foster multigenerational creative cooperation through looking at artwork, discussing it, and engaging in a hands-on art activity. Most programs run from 2:00 – 3:30 pm and include a tour of a specific exhibition.
All programs are free and open to the public, and suitable for children ages 5 and older, accompanied by their adult companions. Materials are provided. Reservations are required—for additional information and reservations, call the Tang’s Visitor Service Desk at 518-580-8080. This program will be capped at 25 participants.

This year, dozens of bookstores across 16 different states received enthusiastic nominations from loyal customers, authors, bookstore employees, and publishing professionals. A five-member jury selected the 2018 WNBA Pannell Award recipients. The winning stores will each receive a check for $1,000 and a piece of original art from a children’s book illustrator, to be presented at BookExpo America’s Children’s Book and Author Breakfast on Friday, June 1, 2018.

Since 1983, the Women’s National Book Association (WNBA) has awarded one of the most prestigious honors in children’s bookselling. Along with WNBA, Penguin Young Readers Group co-sponsors the award, which was established in honor of Lucille Micheels Pannell, founding member of one of the WNBA chapters.
On Saturday, April 21, the Saratoga Regional YMCA is holding a free community event to inspire more kids to keep their minds and bodies active at the annual YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day®, the Y’s national initiative to improve health and well-being for kids and families. Healthy Kids Day is an opportunity to ignite children’s imaginations so that they can imagine what they’ll accomplish this summer. The event will feature activities such as a family fun run, pool time, games, bounce houses, food trucks, family focused vendors, time on our new adventure course and much more!
Healthy Kids Day, celebrated at over 1,500 Ys across the country by over 1.2 million participants, works to get more kids moving and learning, creating habits that they continue all summer long. As spring turns to summer, Healthy Kids Day is a powerful reminder not to let children idle away their summer days. Instead, the Y wants families to focus on helping children imagine what they can accomplish over the summer.
“When a child is healthy, happy, and supported they can make great things happen. We believe in the potential of all children, and we strive to help kids find that potential within themselves. A child’s development is never on vacation and Healthy Kids Day is a great opportunity to educate families and motivate kids to stay active in spirit, mind and body throughout the summer,” said Andrew Bobbitt, CEO of the Saratoga Regional YMCA.

This year's Fish Stocking event at Saratoga Spa State Park has been postponed to Wednesday, April 18th due to icy conditions along the banks of Geyser Creek. This decision was made with the safety of patrons, volunteers and staff in mind. While this pushes the event off of Spring Break week, the public is still welcome to attend on the 18th. They will be offering family friendly events at the Creekside Classroom during break...please keep checking their facebook page for more info!

Meet in the Crawshaw Story Room where Environmental Educators from Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park will give a briefing on trees and their bark. The group will walk to Congress Park where we will identify trees and collect nature items to make a twig vase. Please bring a small jar for each child.
